Remote project delivery: a practical acceptance checklist

A practical guide to project cooperation

Define what completion means

Before remote work begins, set out the output, owner, submission method and acceptance criteria for each stage. Refer back to that agreement so both parties are assessing the same requirements.

Start with an agreed record

Confirm scope, dates, material dependencies, feedback windows, revisions and direct payment terms. Retain the version both parties accepted. Record and confirm changes before acting on them.

When submitting the first version

Explain what was completed, which requirement it addresses, how to inspect or test it, known limitations and the feedback needed. Identify files or demonstration links by version or date.

Make feedback a clear list

Distinguish unmet original requirements, questions needing clarification and additional requests. Refer to a page location, screenshot or repeatable steps, and describe the expected result.

When submitting revisions

Provide a change list and identify resolved and outstanding points. Preserve the explanation between versions so the reviewer can check the changes instead of receiving an unexplained new link.

Acceptance and handover

Check the agreed outputs, source files, operating notes, account access and ongoing subscriptions. Adjust access permissions as appropriate after handover. Keep passwords out of public project descriptions and messages.

Record progress on 51JOB

The cooperation workflow records invitations, confirmation, delivery, revision requests and acceptance. Recorded status is not proof of payment and does not provide fund custody. While private attachments remain unavailable, use a mutually agreed restricted-access sharing method.

If work cannot be completed as planned

Explain the reason, completed work and available next steps. If cancellation is needed, clarify handover and payment matters and record the agreement. Do not mark unresolved work as accepted.
